I remember the day I told someone that I was going to remix this song. The response I got was, “why would you remix that?”…lol! I guess the song, the artist, and subject matter are a little different than what some of my supporters would expect me to be associated with. I find it interesting how folk can put you in a box.

As a producer I’ve always loved Dre and I especially loved the original beat. With my remix I really wanted to make this song sound like something we’ve never heard Dre or Snoop on before and still give it elements of the West Coast as well. This track was a tribute to my collaborative partner Todd “Big LA Kelley” and fam that are from the west coast (Oakland, SF, Vallejo, and LA) so I just felt like I wanted to do something to show some love to our generation of Hip Hop from that region. FO’ SHO’…lol!
