Oddisee of Diamond District and the Low Budget Crew produced the original. He’s one of the most versatile producers I’ve ever heard. Haysoos is a phenomenal emcee. I’ve always wanted to work with him since I saw him open for Jeru Da Damaja at Bohemian Caverns. The original had that signature DC Low Budget sound, so I felt like I had to do a version of it that represented the B-More half of the DMV with that Chicken Box Grease, and a Half and Half (Lemonade and Iced Tea) soul grit mix to it...lol! I wanted the snare to sound like it was slapping you in the face and the baseline to hit you in the gut. Melodious violence is how I would describe it. Almost on some Bomb Squad Hank Shocklee kind of stuff. FIGHT THE POWER…lol!
