I remember when I first heard the original in 1998. I thought this was one of the illest songs I’d ever heard. No exaggeration…ever! For the remix I wanted to give it a dirty sound with the analog type of gritty sp1200 baseline. I learned that from listening to Easy Mo Bee’s work from the early to mid 90’s. I lowered the sample rate on all of the chopped samples to give it a more retro kind of gritty feel.
